Remove Shared Files on Google Drive

You may remove shared files on Google Drive from the web service or the mobile application. Below are both methods.

On Google Drive Mobile Application

The steps are similar for the iOS and Android Google Drive apps. Once you have downloaded and installed the app, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Launch Google Drive.

Step 2: Tap on the Shared tab at the bottom > three-dot menu beside a file or folder you want to remove.

Step 3: Select Remove and confirm your decision.

You should ensure you have a connection for the apps before removing shared files; if not, the changes will not work.

On Google Drive Web

Step 1: Visit Google Drive online and sign into your account.

Step 2: From the sidebar, select Shared with me. You will find suggested and shared files with the original owner’s name.
